Introducing Bambi: London Icons, Reimagined

Sometimes the most compelling discoveries begin with a single question.

Recently, a Newport Brushstrokes client asked us to find work by Bambi. That request led us into a striking private selection—portraits and statements in which glamour, wit and social observation share the same wall.

London icons, seen differently

Bambi is the pseudonym of an anonymous female street artist from London. Working with stencil, spray paint and the visual language of the street, she turns familiar faces into something less settled: images that invite us to reconsider celebrity, identity, power and the stories a culture tells about women.

In Amy with Hummingbird, an unmistakable British music icon is paired with a delicate symbol of motion and resilience. The contrast is central to Bambi’s appeal: toughness and vulnerability, fame and humanity, held in one image.

Her portraits of Kate Moss, Madonna and Elizabeth Taylor draw on the seductive clarity of Pop Art, yet the street-art vocabulary gives each subject a contemporary charge. These are not simply celebrity likenesses. They are images about how icons are made, remembered and reinterpreted.

Beauty with a point of view

Bambi’s work can be playful, but it is rarely empty. A phrase such as Make Tea Not War is immediately approachable, then quietly political. Elsewhere, works such as I’m Too Hot For My Burka and Hero to Zero use humour and provocation to open conversations about freedom, status and public judgment.

A private selection for Newport collectors

Our current selection includes works featuring Amy Winehouse, Kate Moss, Madonna and Elizabeth Taylor, alongside Bambi’s sharper social statements. One of the featured pieces, Big Girls Need Big Diamonds — Elizabeth Taylor, Sky Blue, captures the artist’s ability to combine old-Hollywood glamour with the immediacy of contemporary street art.

Availability is subject to final confirmation. Prices are shared privately so that our team can discuss the individual work, edition details and suitability for your collection.
