The Great Depression of the 1930’s. While it was a period of difficulty of a monstrous scope, the Great Depression additionally was also a cauldron for some wonderful works of innovative and provocative works of art. Many of these works that are still sought after and considered extremely important today. It was a period of tension and fear, yet in addition a period of vision and development.

Fast forward 90 years and the world is going through another similar difficult times. The Coronavirus or Covid-19 has brought a plethora of hardships. Aside from economic and health hardships, our current times have brought increased isolation and loneliness. But, it is through this self-isolation that art has been flourishing. Artists, arts organizations, and education institutions are looking for ways to foster and sustain partnerships and to continue to share the deep joys that art gives us together. Through education and online learning we can continue to grow the love of art. In 90 years, we may look back at our current times as a great period in the art world.
