August 16, 2017 marks to 40th Anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. He was also known as The King of Rock. Artists have painted portraits of the Rock star, including Peter Max.

Presley’s career started in 1954, but became an international star in 1956. He was a pioneer in using diverse musical styles, which broke social and racial barriers. He wasn’t just famous for his music, but also his acting. He had 33 movies that were highly successful. Elvis Presley won 3 Grammys. He served in the army from 1958 to 1960.

Elvis Presley remains popular to this day. Hardcore fans of Elvis Presley attend concerts performed by a cover artists. A famous example is Martin Fontaine, whose impression of Elvis Presley even impressed Priscilla Presley! I’ve heard that Fontaine’s impression of Elvis Presley is so good as it were the King himself. His music has been made in cover songs or remakes. A recent example is Quebec singer David Thibault, who sang a cover of Blue Christmas on The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2013.  His music is timeless and will be listened to for generations to come .Elvis Presley left behind an amazing legacy.

My favourite songs from Elvis Presley are All Shook Up, Falling in Love with You, Fever and Jailhouse Rock. My

Long live the king of rock!
